Arranging objects

Within a layer, Fireworks stacks objects based on the order in which you created them, placing the most recently created object on the top of the stack. The stacking order of objects determines how they appear when they are overlapping.

To change the stacking order of objects, use the Arrange commands. If the objects are not overlapping, you won't see the change in the stacking order.

To arrange an object:

1 Select the object.
2 Change the stacking order:
Choose Modify > Arrange > Bring to Front or Send to Back to move the object to the top or the bottom of the stacking order.
Choose Modify > Arrange > Bring Forward or Send Backward to move the object up or down one position in the stacking order.

To select an object behind another object:

1 Choose the Select Behind tool.
2 Click the object in front of the object you want to select.
3 Continue clicking until you have selected the object you want.
